The Used Inventory Sales Lead is responsible for maximizing the profitability, velocity, and presentation of the company’s used equipment inventory across all locations. This role serves as the central coordinator between Sales, Branch Managers, Marketing, Service, Parts, and Leadership to ensure every used asset has a clear strategy, is professionally presented, aggressively marketed, and sold within target timelines. This is a highly commercial, action-oriented role focused on one objective: Move inventory faster and more profitably - especially aged equipment.

 

What you will need:

Inventory Strategy & Performance

• Maintain visibility of all used inventory across the organization.
• Develop and execute strategies to reduce aged inventory.
• Lead regular reviews of inventory aging, pricing, and market positioning.
• Monitor inventory turns, days in inventory, margins, and sales velocity.
• Recommend pricing changes, reconditioning investments, transfers, wholesale opportunities, and auction strategies.

 

Pricing & Market Intelligence

• Establish consistent valuation and pricing practices.
• Monitor market trends, competitive listings, and auction activity.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory mix and acquisition strategies.
• Partner with Sales Leaders and Branch Managers on pricing decisions

 

Inventory Readiness & Presentation

• Ensure all equipment meets company presentation standards before listing.
• Coordinate inspections, repairs, cleaning, detailing, photography, and descriptions.
• Drive consistency in inventory standards across all branches.

 

Marketing & Sales Enablement

• Ensure equipment is promptly listed across all approved channels.
• Partner with Marketing to maximize exposure and promote priority inventory.
• Support sales teams with customer matching opportunities and cross-branch sales initiatives.
• Facilitate equipment movement between locations when beneficial.

 

Aged Inventory Management

• Develop action plans for inventory exceeding aging targets.
• Escalate high-risk inventory and drive decisive actions to improve turns and generate cash.
• Create accountability around inventory action plans and outcomes.

 

Key Performance Indicators:

• Reduction in inventory aged 12+ and 24+ months
• Inventory turns
• Average days in inventory
• Used equipment sales volume and gross margin
• Working capital reduction
• Time-to-listing and listing compliance
• Cross-branch used equipment sales

 

Qualifications:

• Excellent training program, apprenticeship program
• Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment sales, inventory management, remarketing, or dealership operations.
• Strong understanding of agricultural and/or construction equipment markets.
• Demonstrated ability to move product and improve inventory performance.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.
